New Year, Beginning of Freedom

I have to admit that I didn’t know the history behind the tradition of Watch Services on New Year’s Eve at my baptist church. I simply thought it was the Christian alternative to engaging in drunken and wild behavior; a time to give thanks for the previous year and say prayers for the new one. Yet the tradition of sitting up late and “watching” until the stroke of midnight has a deeper significance. Read the story!
