“The great gift of Easter is hope- Christian hope which makes us have that confidence in God, in His ultimate triumph, and in His goodness and love, which nothing can shake.” Basil C. Hume
Spring, renewal and fresh beginnings. Easter means second chances and forgiveness. Let us take this time to forgive old hurts and mend strained relationships. Just remember forgiveness is a gift you give yourself. Forgiveness is about letting go and moving forward. It’s more about you than the person you forgive. Have a wonderful Easter and spring!

I completely agree with your Easter message about forgiveness, and I would propose that Basil C. Hume might not be giving credit where credit is due. I think Easter is indeed a triumph, but I believe it is the triumph of Jesus and not God (with the understanding that we can’t do anything apart from God). Jesus was the one who willingly sacrificed himself, was crucified, and died, not God. Our sins were washed away by the blood of the Lamb, not God Himself. I think this is an important distinction because Jesus asked us to perform greater deeds than he did, which would be impossible for us if we didn’t acknowledge what Jesus accomplished when he was a mortal being in this world — just as we are now. Wishing everyone a Happy Easter!
